No, the Police were not invited to the Event at the Audubon Ballroom in New York City where Malcolm X was assassinated on February 21, 1965. The Event was organized by the Organization of Afro-American Unity (OAAU), which Malcolm X had founded after leaving the Nation of Islam. The security at the Event was primarily handled by Malcolm X's own security team, not by Law Enforcement.
